Always wanted a house on the Cape? Now's your chance. Thanks to the forever-in-your-face MA bureaucrats (they'll be telling you how to decorate your bedoom soon) and the unavailability of home insurance against the elements, it's a buyer's paradise. But the Cape ain't the homeowner's paradise it once was. You have to look to find something new and novel happening. Like Trader Joe setting up shop. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it inspired Cape Cod Kate to fire up her desktop and punch out the following.
Not For Gourmets Only
Trader Joe has come to town
With foodstuff prices so low down
That folks who've shopped at other marts
Are filling up those new red carts
While sipping fragrant cups of joe
As wending through the aisles they go
In states of pure organic bliss,
They've never seen the likes of this!
Entranced by T.J.'s friendly tone
The customers feel right at home
With happy checkers beaming smiles,
No wonder shoppers come for miles
Off-Cape, on-Cape, it doesn't matter,
Joe's place is bright with cheerful chatter;
Just shop by day or shop by night,
His well-selected stock's so right
For ordinary mealtime fare
Or fancy fĂȘtes extraordinaire,
His shelves and cases hold the best,
The favorite foods of East and West
With clearly marked nutrition lore
Plus fine desserts and treats galore;
This favored populace now knows
It's fun to frequent Trader Joe's!
____________
Even the hummers (the kind that fly) are leaving the Cape early this year.
